BIOL 147H - Psychobiology (and Lab) - Honors 4 credits
This course provides an in-depth analysis of the role of biology in shaping human behavior. Lecture topics include the anatomy and physiology of the neuroendocrine system, learning and memory, pain and analgesia, homeostatic motivation, emotions, and stress and stress management. Laboratory sessions include explorations of sensory perception, sleep and dreaming, mental illness, biofeedback, sociobiology and chronobiology. A written term project or classroom presentation is required.
Class Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 2 Prerequisites: One semester of college-level biology. Offered spring semester.
