VET 206 - Farm Animal Nursing

4 credits

An introduction farm animal medical nursing, herd health and to production science. Topics include specie-specific; physical exams, diagnostic testing, radiology, and sanitation/aseptic techniques. Instruction will also cover specie-specific restraint, neonatal care and processing, nutrition, genetics and reproduction, and grooming techniques. Lab sessions introduce a variety of farm animals and settings; providing hands-on experience. Lab portions held off-campus.

Prerequisites: VET 202 - Anesthetic and Surgical Procedures for Veterinary Technicians VET 204 - Senior Lab 1 , and  VET 211 - Veterinary Technology Internship 2 .
Spring Semesters
