ECE 270 - Observation and Assessment

4 credits

Through participation in the shared process of observation and documentation students gain a broader perspective and deeper knowledge of teaching and learning. Documentation and reflection of children and their work provides an understanding of how children create meaning. The Prospect Descriptive Processes provide a framework for collaborative assessment and the family perspective is considered. Students will prepare to enter the field as early childhood professionals.

Corequisite: ECE 271 - Early Childhood Field 1 .
Prerequisites: Eng 101 Ready and Read 105 Ready
Pre or Corequisites: ECE 170 - Early Childhood Development  and ECE 171 - Foundations of Early Childhood .
