ECE 280 - The Exceptional Child

3 credits


This course provides an overview of working with children with a range of disabilities and differences. Topics include the historical, philosophical, and legal foundations of special education. Students will explore teaching strategies, modifications, and accommodations. Current issues in education will be explored. Emphasis is placed on teaching and learning from a strengths-based perspective.

 

Prerequisites:   ECE 270 - Observation and Assessment  and ECE 271 - Early Childhood Field 1
