VET 206 - Farm Animal Nursing 4 Credits
General and emergency large animal medical nursing are covered, including the fundamentals of restraint and sanitation in a large animal setting, how to conduct a thorough physical examination on large animal patients, and the fundamentals of executing diagnostic tests appropriate for both standard and emergency care. Instruction will also touch upon nutrition, genetics and reproduction, grooming techniques and relate each to species specifically when appropriate and as time allows for. Laboratory portion will introduce students to a variety of large animal settings and will be held both on- and off-campus.
Prerequisites: VET 202 - Anesthetic and Surgical Procedures for Veterinary Technicians and VET 204 - Senior Lab 1
