ECE 170 - Early Childhood Development

3 Credits

This course explores the process of change from birth through the primary years. Major developmental theories and their impact on childrearing and educational practices are critically examined. Focus is placed on the influence of context and culture on children’s development. Themes include the active role of the child, identity development, the child as a maker of meaning, and nature and nurture.

Prerequisites: None
