ENG 127 - The Art of Thinking

3 Credits

This is an introductory course that aims to make major trends in western thought accessible to students interested in the study of English and the Humanities.  This course will examine how thinkers from Plato to Foucault have influenced the study of the arts and the human experience.  Possible schools of thought introduced may be: classical philosophy, Marxism, psychoanalysis, feminism, structuralism, post-colonial, queer theory and post-structuralism.

Prerequisites: ENG 101 - Writing and Research  or ENG 101H - Writing and Research - Honors
