The AAS in Energy Systems will prepare graduates for entry-level technical positions in the energy field. A wide breadth of core courses covering electrical, electronic, mechanical and control areas provide a solid foundation. The second year provides concentration areas where students can focus on one area or explore a variety of specialties. Specialties include modern conventional fuel power plant operation and maintenance, electric power transmission and distribution, and nuclear power technology. Possible positions upon graduation include Plant Operators, Chemistry Technician, Radiation Protection Technician, Electrical Maintenance Technician, Instrument & Controls Technician, Mechanical Maintenance Technician, Gas Field Technicians, Systems Protection Control Technicians, and Meter Technicians.
