Program Description
The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree in Interactive Technologies (ITECH) with a Computer Animation and Game Design concentration is an innovative program that prepares students for creative technology careers found 2D and 3D Animation, Game Design and other interactive media such as computer-generated simulations of Virtual Reality (VR).
The ITECH 2D/3D animation and game design coursework offers students the opportunity to learn hands-on creative digital media skills essential to concept and character development, digital storytelling, animation protocols and product designs utilizing 3D printing. Many professions in STEM, Business, Entertainment, and Public Service utilizes animated interactive media. The curriculum prepares students for entry-level positions or for transfer to a four-year institution. The program is applicable for professionals who need to enhance their existing skills utilizing emerging technologies.
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program, a student will:
- Create self-directed, concept-driven animated and interactive media solutions that meet creative goals,
- Demonstrate teamwork, production and management skills for animation, game and product design industries,
- Demonstrate the ability to apply digital design principles with an emphasis on interactive design,
- Demonstrate the ability to make informed decisions based on the analysis of empirical data,
- Demonstrate the ability to design, build, and manage dynamic interactive media.
