Program Description


The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree in Interactive Technologies (ITECH) with a concentration of Web Design and Development in User Experience and User Interface (UX/UI) is an innovative program that prepares students for emerging technology careers in human-centered web design. Students will learn how to design and manage front-end development utilizing digital design skills and basic web programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JQuery, JavaScript, and UX/UI, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Digital Video and other interactive media solutions.

The ITECH Web Design UX/UI coursework offers students the opportunity to learn hands-on creative web proficiencies essential to web management. The curriculum prepares students for entry-level positions or for transfer to a four-year institution. The program is applicable for professionals who need to enhance their existing skills utilizing emerging technologies.

Program Learning Outcomes


Upon successful completion of this program, a student will:

  1. Create self-directed, human-centered interactive media solutions that meet web management goals.
  2. Demonstrate teamwork, production and management skills for emerging online solutions,
  3. Demonstrate the ability to apply digital design principles with an emphasis on interactive design,
  4. Demonstrate the ability to make informed decisions based on the analysis of user experience and user interface,
  5. Demonstrate the ability to design, build, and manage front-end development for digital media solutions.
