Program Description


The two-year Associate Degree in Nursing program (ADN) prepares students for entry into the field of professional nursing. Graduates are prepared to provide bedside and related specialized nursing care in hospitals, homes, clinics, and long-term care facilities.

Upon successful completion of the nursing program, graduates are eligible for licensure as Registered Professional Nurses. Advanced placement in the nursing curriculum is available for Licensed Practical Nurses. Graduates are qualified to complete an upper division Baccalaureate Nursing Degree Program, required in New York State, within ten years of Associate Degree graduation.

Program Learning Outcomes


Upon successful completion of this program, a student will:

  1. Demonstrate safe, ethical, client-centered care with diverse populations across the lifespan.
  2. Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration to achieve quality client care.
  3. Utilize evidence-based practice in the delivery of health care.
  4. Utilize technology and safety measures to continuously improve the quality of health care.
  5. Demonstrate adherence to leadership, management, legal and ethical standards in practice as a professional nurse.
