Program Description
The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree in Interactive Technologies (ITECH) with a concentration of Web Design and Development in User Experience and User Interface (UX/UI) is an innovative program that prepares students for emerging technology careers in human-centered web design. Students will learn how to design and manage front-end development utilizing digital design skills and basic web programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JQuery, JavaScript, and UX/UI, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Digital Video and other interactive media solutions.
The ITECH Web Design UX/UI coursework offers students the opportunity to learn hands-on creative web proficiencies essential to web management. The curriculum prepares students for entry-level positions or for transfer to a four-year institution. The program is applicable for professionals who need to enhance their existing skills utilizing emerging technologies.
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program, a student will:
- Create self-directed, human-centered interactive media solutions that meet web management goals.
- Demonstrate teamwork, production, and management skills for emerging online solutions,
- Demonstrate the ability to apply digital design principles with an emphasis on interactive design,
- Demonstrate the ability to make informed decisions based on the analysis of user experience and user interface,
- Demonstrate the ability to design, build, and manage front-end development for digital media solutions.
