CE-ART 2361 - The Art Spirit: How to Think and Work like an Artist


This course will introduce students to how creativity and innovation comes from artistic thought and activity. This can be a useful approach to problem solving in many areas of life. The course will present many famous artworks with detailed images and share the stories of how these artworks were actually created. Emphasis will be on process, choosing influences from a variety of sources and the creative use of imagination. From Vincent Van Gogh, Picasso and Michelangelo to Jackson Pollock and Andy Warhol, the artist spirit has been an incredible influence on Western Culture for millennia.
