CE-TECH 2044 - Introduction to Manual Machine Lathe and Turning Operations
This class is intended for entry-level turning operators and / or students in a turning operator training program who have a basic understanding of turning machines and their operation. In this course, students will become familiar with the fundamentals of manual lathe machines, spindle speeds, feed rates and tools for centerline machining such as twist drills, taps and reamers.
Whether operating a manual machine or programming a CNC machine, operators need to master these fundamental skills to produce high-quality parts and avoid catastrophic failures. Throughout the course, students will learn the various types of machining methods and the tools needed to make various parts, as well as the actual mechanical operation of the machines.
