CE-HIST 2505 - Intro to Egyptian Hieroglyphs


Students will be able to read and understand basic Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphs as we explore the sacred text as it is written on papyri, tombs, and temples.  Students will be able understand the long history of the development of Ancient Egyptian Civilization as the gift of the Nile River, which originates in Uganda, Kenya and Ethiopia. If students ever opt to visit Egypt or an Egyptian exhibit at a local museum, they will have a greater understanding of the inscriptions and appreciation for Ancient Egypt’s contribution to human civilization.
