VET 101 - Introduction to Veterinary Technology

3 Credits

An introduction to the veterinary technology field, including roles of the veterinary technician, career opportunities, professional organizations, identification of common species, medical terminology, and animal husbandry. Topics also include standards of care, ethics, legal considerations, and licensure procedures. Lab focuses on animal behavior, humane restraint, introduction to phlebotomy, and career readiness, both on- and off-campus.

Prerequisites: Enrollment in the Veterinary Technology Program.
