HIT 290 - Professional Practice Experience 2: Internship

2 Credits
The Professional Practice Experience (PPE) 2 provides students with applied work experience in the health information department of a healthcare facility. Students are expected to observe and perform coding and related functions. Health information management professionals serve as an extension for the college and supervise the PPE totaling 45 hours. 

Prerequisites: HIT 260 - Health Information Technologies ,  HIT 270 - Healthcare Statistics & Research ,  HIT 280 - Health Leadership and Management  (all courses with a grade C or better)
