Program Description


The Energy Systems program is designed to prepare graduates in entry-level technical positions in renewable and conventional energy generation, transmission, and storage industries. The curriculum emphasizes both electrical and electronic theory and equipment operation combined with a knowledge of mechanical and thermal systems. Familiarity with business concepts and office software is included along with knowledge of system design software. Specific courses in the curriculum will concentrate on certain fields such as solar power and utility industry transmission and distribution.

Program Learning Outcomes


Upon successful completion of this program, a student will:

  1. Demonstrate understanding of the structure of the energy industry and current developments, including technological trends.
  2. Demonstrate the technical skills necessary for establishing a career path in the energy industry.
  3. Demonstrate the ability to solve technical problems using critical thinking and troubleshooting methods.
