Placement testing is required for new students or those who did not take the ESL final test in Fall 2025 or Spring 2026. Placement tests are conducted in-person or online via Zoom, depending on course location. Testing details and Zoom access will be provided upon registration.

Spring Course Offerings

Intensive English Program

The Intensive English Program offers motivated learners rapid advancement from beginner to advanced levels, with courses in Grammar & Reading, Listening, Speaking & Pronunciation, and Writing, designed to prepare students for university study or enhance career opportunities. Registration is required in all 3 courses (G, L, and W).

At SUNY Westchester Valhalla: ELI-ESL IEP-G, -L & -W, 65 M-F, Jan. 12–Apr. 22 (skip 1/19, 3/16-20, 4/3), 9:00 am-12:00 noon, placement test: Jan. 5, 9:00 am, $1085 (+ approximately $170 for textbook and $10.50 for 2 fees).

Accent on Fluency

This course supplements the Intensive English program (or another ESL class) by providing substantial speaking and listening practice and offering pronunciation activities to improve communication clarity.
