Program Description


A Personal Fitness Training Certificate equips you with the knowledge and skills to design and implement effective fitness programs tailored to individual clients’ needs. Here are some key aspects of what such a certification typically covers:

  1. Exercise Science: Understanding human anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics to create safe and effective exercise programs.
  2. Nutrition: Basic principles of nutrition and how they relate to fitness and health.
  3. Client Assessment: Techniques for assessing clients’ fitness levels, setting goals, and tracking progress.
  4. Program Design: Crafting personalized workout plans that consider clients’ goals, abilities, and any special considerations.
  5. Behavioral Coaching: Strategies to motivate and support clients in making lasting lifestyle changes.
  6. Professional Practice: Legal and ethical guidelines, business practices, and professional responsibilities of a personal trainer.

9:00 am-12:00 noon will be virtual lectures and 1:00-4:00 pm practicum at WCC Gym/Fitness Center,
National Certification Exam: November 23 (9-11 am written, 12 noon-5 pm practical)
