Program Description
The Digital Filmmaking Certificate at SUNY Westchester Community College is designed for students seeking entry-level positions in film and related industries. Through hands-on coursework in areas like screenwriting, video editing and documentary production, students learn to create compelling narratives and develop technical proficiency in all phases of the filmmaking process. With the ability to shoot, edit and enhance video, graduates can find a variety of professional opportunities in film production, marketing, training and recruitment, web design and more. Upon successful completion of this program, a student will: -
Demonstrate a basic understanding and appreciation of film as an art form. -
Demonstrate the ability to craft a cinematic story with a coherent narrative structure. -
