Program Description
The Electrical Technology A.A.S. program at SUNY Westchester Community College offers a multi-disciplinary foundation for careers in diverse fields such as power utilities, electronics, healthcare, automotive control, and robotics. With a curriculum that blends theoretical concepts and practical application, students gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge areas like microprocessors, digital communication, energy conversion, and circuit design. Graduates are well-prepared for technical roles involving diagnostics, equipment testing, and system design, positioning them for immediate entry into the workforce or further specialization in this dynamic field. Program Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program, a student will: - Demonstrate the ability to use test equipment and technical diagrams to diagnose malfunctions, modify and adjust equipment, and test or assemble electronic equipment.
- Demonstrate an applied knowledge of electrical theory and electronic components including programmable devices to perform equipment installation, test, and evaluation.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of application software for testing, data collection and transmission, automation, and control applications.
