Program Description
The Interactive Technologies A.A.S. with a concentration in Computer Animation and Game Design at SUNY Westchester Community College prepares students for innovative careers in digital media and game design. This program blends creativity with technical skills, offering hands-on courses in animation, game development, 3D visualization, and interactive media. Through collaborative projects and specialized coursework, students build a portfolio that showcases skills in animation, digital storytelling, and interactive design. Graduates are equipped for entry-level roles or further studies, bringing imaginative concepts to life in the expanding fields of animation and game design. Program Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program, a student will: - Learn 2D and 3D animation techniques: Acquire proficiency in both 2D and 3D animation techniques using industry-standard software.
- Develop interactive media concepts: Create interactive media concepts, define interactive mechanics, and develop media narratives.
- Proficiency in Visual Design: Ability to apply digital design principles with an emphasis on time-base media and interactive design,
- Proficiency in the Development of interactive media: Able to utilize interactive media engines or programs to design and develop interactive media
- Project management: Able to manage digital media projects from start to finish, both individually and with a collaboration of peer assessment and contributions.
