Program Description
The Interactive Technologies A.A.S. with a concentration in Web Design and Development (UX/UI) at SUNY Westchester Community College offers students the skills needed to excel in today’s digital and user-centered design landscape. This track prepares students to create engaging, user-friendly websites and interactive media by combining coursework in digital design, web programming, and user experience. Students will gain hands-on experience with the latest industry tools and practices, setting them up for entry-level roles or for transfer to a four-year program. Graduates will be well-equipped to develop creative, responsive, and impactful digital solutions that meet user and business goals. Program Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program, a student will: - Understand user-centered design: Apply a user-centered approach to design, focusing on meeting the needs and goals of users.
- Design wireframes and prototypes: Create low-fidelity and high-fidelity wireframes and prototypes to visualize and test design concepts.
- Proficiency in Visual Design: Ability to apply digital design principles with an emphasis on interactive design,
- Problem-solving and critical thinking: Develop research and analytical skills to identify user-centered design solutions to meet business goals
- Oversight of Content Management Systems (CMS): Learn how to use popular CMS platforms to manage front-end development for digital media solutions.
