HSERV 262 - Social Work Practice Foundations 3 Credits
This course will introduce students to the foundations of social work practice with individuals and families. Students are introduced to the knowledge, values, and skills necessary for culturally competent social work practice, with particular focus on engagement, assessment, interviewing, advocacy, and self-awareness.
Notes: Students are assigned as interns in social service agencies under the supervision of professional human services workers.
May be taken for Honors credit.
Prerequisites: HSERV 260 - Social Work Group Practice and HSERV 261 - Social Work Practicum I Corequisite: HSERV 263 - Social Work Practicum II
