Program Description

The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Business Technologies prepares students to enter the workplace with the skills and knowledge sought by employers. The program teaches management and supervisory skills, and students develop the ability to manage resources, and personnel.  In addition, coursework in business technologies and communication prepares students to assist, coordinate, and oversee workflow in a broad range of business environments.  Students will be able to perform effectively in today’s workplace as well as be ready to meet the challenges of continually evolving technologies and job responsibilities.

Program Requirements

60 credits are required for the degree:

• General Education - 21 credits
• Required Degree Courses - 39 credits

General Education Requirements - 21 Credits

• Communication - Written and Oral (3 credits): ENG 101 - Writing and Research  
   
• Humanities (3 credits):  ENG 102 - Writing and Literature  
   
• Mathematics (and Quantitative Reasoning) (3 credits): choose from this category of general education courses  
   
• Natural Sciences (and Scientific Reasoning) (3 credits): choose from this category of general education courses  
   
• Diversity: Equity, Inclusion, and Social Justice OR Social Sciences (3 credits): choose from either category, Diversity: Equity, Inclusion, and Social Justice  OR Social Sciences  
   
• Any two additional General Education courses (6 credits): choose TWO from any category of all General Education Courses

Program Map

The program map is a recommended semester-by-semester schedule of courses based on degree requirements and serve as a general guideline to help students complete their program in two years. Although designed for full-time enrollment, these are easily adaptable for part-time study. For additional, individualized guidance, students should review Degree Works and consult an Academic Counselor or Faculty Advisor to ensure they are on track to complete their program.
