Program Description
The Accounting and Finance A.S. program at SUNY Westchester Community College provides a strong foundation in essential accounting principles, financial management, and hands-on skills like computerized accounting and federal income taxation. Students will gain valuable real-world experience needed for entry-level roles in accounting firms, corporations, banks, and small businesses, as well as prepares students for transfer to a four-year program. Whether you aim to become a Certified Public Accountant or work in corporate finance, this program equips you with the practical and analytical expertise needed to thrive in today’s financial landscape. Upon successful completion of this program, a student will: - Demonstrate the ability to present financial statement information effectively.
- Demonstrate the use of reliable internet resources to research company financial information.
- Demonstrate the ability to use Excel to present financial information in a professional manner.
- Demonstrate the ability to analyze financial information using relevant data.
