Program Description


The Interactive Technologies A.A.S. program at SUNY Westchester Community College offers a flexible, interdisciplinary path into the rapidly evolving field of digital media. With concentrations in Digital Marketing, Web Design and Development (UX/UI), and Computer Animation and Game Design, this program allows students to build specialized skills in creative technologies that meet today’s market demands. Students gain hands-on experience in digital design, interactive media, and storytelling, preparing them for entry-level roles or seamless transfer to a four-year institution. Graduates will emerge as innovative content creators, ready to shape the future of New Media.

Program Learning Outcomes


Upon successful completion of this program, a student will:

  1. Proficiency in self-direction: Demonstrate concept-driven interactive media solutions that meet business goals.
  2. Proficiency in research: Demonstrate the ability to make informed decisions based on the analysis of empirical data.
  3. Proficiency in visual design: Ability to apply digital design principles with an emphasis on interactive design.
  4. Problem-solving and critical thinking: Develop research and analytical skills to identify user-centered design solutions that meet business goals.
  5. Project management: Able to manage digital media projects from start to finish, both individually and with a collaboration of peer assessment and contributions.
