VET 210 - Veterinary Technology Clinical Experience

3 credits

Clinical experience supervised by a licensed veterinary technician and/or veterinarian. Focus is on application of what has been learned in the classroom; skill development, decision making and independent work.

Notes: One evening to present on experience is required.

All 120 hours must be completed at a Program-affiliated facility; no hours can be completed at an affiliated place of employment. Transportation to site is the student’s responsibility.

Students will come in direct contact with various animal species in controlled laboratory settings and/or offsite affiliated veterinary hospitals. Exposure to zoonotic diseases and a risk of exposure to veterinary/animal-related hazards is possible.

Prerequisites: Permission from Department Chair.
